Last Friday (March 9) I had the huge honour of officially opening Redditch Nightstop's brand new premises on Britten Street.

Thanks to kind-hearted residents and a business who will remain unnamed, this fabulous charity has been able to relocate to his new building which will provide them with much more space. The charity's refurbishment of the new premises has allowed them to improve the kitchen, wash room, storage area, private relaxation are, interview and mediation room as well as an office and meeting space. The new premises will definitely allow the charity to better fulfil the needs of young people here in Redditch.

I was just in awe of this incredible organisation and the work they do for young people who need support when I visited last Friday. This fantastic charity provides family supported living for young people who have nowhere else to go, as well as helping them to learn vital life skills.

Chatting to the young people who use this service was definitely the highlight of my week. I got to hear first-hand how they’ve turned their lives around from a very dark place and how Nightstop is there for them no matter how long they need it for in their lives.
Thanks to donations from local businesses and the Redditch Advertiser, Where Next? now has a sparkling new kitchen facility which will make a huge difference to people's lives, not only by encouraging them to eat healthily, but getting them to prepare food for themselves helping with vital real life experience.

Where Next? is always going from strength-to-strength and all of us should be so proud of the work the charity does to support people with special needs.
The Brownies asked some excellent questions about the work an MP does and what I get up to in Parliament and back here in Redditch. The girls definitely channelled their inner Paxman!

I also got to join in with some girlguiding activities which reminded me of my time as a girlguide many years ago now.

It was also great to hear first-hand from the girls about what it means to be in the Brownies and how it affects their lives.Rachel Maclean http://www.blogger.com/profile/15822349443166540294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1837623467650216529.post-56943299060928131422018-01-19T09:25:00.000-08:002018-01-22T00:55:11.431-08:00What a fanastic visit to Redditch success story Bee Lighting

I am passionate about championing businesses here in Redditch and so what a delight it was to visit Bee Lighting this afternoon.
Our town has a proud history of manufacturing and this fantastic company is continuing this tradition.

Until today I had no idea this company produces car lights for the likes of Aston Martin, Ford and Lamborghini. And we can all proudly say these lights are made here in Redditch!

During my visit to Bee Lighting's factory, it was great to chat with the firm's Operations Director, Colin Fulford, about the history of the company and it's exciting plans for the future.

The manufacturing output in the UK is currently at an eight-year high and you can see this first-hand here in Redditch.

Despite Brexit, Bee Lighting has seen a string of European car makers line-up asking them to produce lights for their up and coming models. This is fantastic to see and proves how products made here in Redditch and the UK are still in-demand from our European neighbours.
